BioAnatoner

  •  A solid-state wireless innovative anorectal probe system a pioneering, 3-sensor, circumferential pressure detection probe with a balloon, with each sensor optimally designed to assess the dynamic changes of the target organ. The anal circumferential solid-state sensor is 2.5 cm long and 1.1 cm wide that fits snugly in the human anal canal which is typically 3 cm long, for optimal detection of the dynamic anal pressure changes during biofeedback and provide accurate and rapid feedback to enhance patients’ learning. The circumferential solid state rectal pressure sensor and the balloon sensors are each 3 cm long and individually and collectively provide intrarectal pressure changes by sensing across the rectal segment.

  • The incorporation of a solid-state balloon pressure sensor is a first of its kind as previous biofeedback instruments either had no balloon or sensor and consequently failed to provide rectal sensation input or sensory training – an important component of biofeedback therapy. This innovation provides training for rectal hyposensitivity or hypersensitivity and importantly recto-anal coordination training- an essential part of biofeedback training for dyssynergic defecation and FI, by providing a simulated stool in rectum

  • In the BioAnatoner system there is no wired connection to an LCD box or a computer system but a hub at the end of the probe with built in electronics and pressure systems that wirelessly connects via Bluetooth with a Mobile phone or Desk top system or Tablet.

  • Neurogut has developed a novel smartphone app, the BioAnatoner app, that guides patients on how to insert the device and perform series of exercises to either strengthen or relax their pelvic muscles. The App provides real time animation display of the anal and rectal and balloon pressure changes using the normal anal and rectal anatomy rather than abstract forms such as flashing lights, and connecting patient with their bowel dysfunction. Also incorporates performance feedback and ability for therapists to remotely monitor and advice patients.

  • A challenge with biofeedback device is probe retention when sitting. We have developed a unique harness system to enable the probe to stay in place during biofeedback treatment.

  • The BioAnatoner system has a real time cloud-based capture of the patient biofeedback therapy data. This enables us to generate an easily understood graphical report to the patient and the provider on the progress of the patient relative to the target for the exercise.

  • This application builds upon our extensive collective experience and core concept of evaluating and treating pelvic floor problems such as FI and dyssynergic defecation.
